The Yang Sheng Practitioner Apprenticeship Program is a guided course of study for individuals who wish to deepen their understanding of Yang Sheng (Life Cultivation), Chinese medicine, herbalism, nutrition, qigong, and traditional approaches to health and wellness.
This program combines structured learning with personal mentorship. Drawing from both traditional apprenticeship models and modern educational methods, students receive guidance, study materials, practical assignments, and direct instruction while progressing through a series of learning modules.
The purpose of this apprenticeship is not simply to acquire information, but to develop a deeper understanding of health, cultivation, observation, and practical application.
Areas of Study
Topics of study may include:
- Yang Sheng (Life Cultivation)
- Foundations of Chinese Medicine
- Chinese Herbalism
- Chinese Nutrition and Food Therapy

- Qigong and Self-Cultivation Practices
- Seasonal Living and Lifestyle Cultivation

The exact course of study may vary according to the student’s interests, background, and goals.
How the Apprenticeship Works
Students progress through a series of educational modules over time.
Each module may include:
- Recorded video lessons
- One-on-one mentoring sessions by phone or video conference
- Written educational materials
- Assigned readings
- Practical exercises and self-observation practices
- Discussion and review of key concepts
Students are encouraged to study the material, apply it in their own lives, and bring questions and observations into their mentoring sessions.
The apprenticeship is designed to support both intellectual understanding and practical experience.
Duration and Pace
Most students receive new material approximately once per month, allowing time for study, practice, and integration between modules.
The core apprenticeship is generally expected to take one to two years to complete, although the pace may vary according to individual circumstances and level of commitment.
Certification
Students who complete the core curriculum will receive a Certificate of Completion recognizing their participation in and completion of the apprenticeship program.
While the curriculum has a defined structure, Yang Sheng itself is a lifelong path of study and cultivation. Completion of the program marks the completion of a course of study, not the end of learning.
